Frequently Asked Questions

How long do I have to reach my fundraising goal?

You have all year! The campaign is running until December 31st, 2020, so the sooner you sign up the better.

Can I raise more than $1,000?

Yes, of course! Every $1,000 we raise transforms a cancer treatment journey and helps another patient afford to save their hair using scalp cooling. You can set your goal based on how many patients you would like to sponsor.

Do you have collateral for us to use to help promote our fundraiser?

We have a digitial marketing toolkit that is available on the site where you can access graphics and content to help promote your fundraiser via email, social media and print.

What do we get for participating?

The most important thing you get is the gratification of knowing you helped transform a person's cancer treatment journey. But we are anticipating expsoure from the campaign in several key haircare and beauty-related publications, and we will be providing prizes and awards for the top performing salons.

How does your subsidy program work?

We provide subsidies of up to $1,000 to patients who are at or below 3 times the federal poverty level from our national fund. For patients who are accessing treatment in a specific donor targeted area, subsidies increase to as high as $2,500 and up to 6 times the federal poverty level.

Does my city offer scalp cooling?

If you live in a major metropolitan area with a cancer treatment center, odds are that there are automated scalp cooling systems available. However, if not, manual scalp cooling systems are available anywhere in the country. They are as effective, and are ordered online.

How do patients apply?

They can apply directly through our website at www.hairtostay.org, and usually receive confirmation of approval within one business day.
